Item Description
7/8" w/W&H back paper. 1921. Text around portrait "I'm Coming Are You?" and at bottom "October 24-29". Almost no surface wear even in reflected light. NM displaying Mint. Harding spoke Oct. 26 to a segregated crowd noting the service of African Americans during World War I and the Constitution's guarantee of political equality adding "Whether You Like It Or Not, Unless Our Democracy Is A Lie, You Must Stand For That Equality." The speech marked the first time a President spoke to the issue of racial equality in the South.
