Item Description
Aside from being a rare example from the final years of the ferrotype photo era, this (and  Harrison #121) is one of the rare instances that incorporates ferrotype photos into a three dimensional object. The drum's side is made of a rolled strip of embossed brass with details including tension springs and other accents. The drum is 9/16" deep and 13/16" in dia. Tiny tabs hold the ferrotypes in position as the drum heads. Cleveland has a few tiny emulsion dots off perimeter and Stevenson has tiny 1/16" emulsion flake off by one tab, but both ferros have highly reflective surfaces with the emulsion 99% intact.  Top edge of drum has a fixed brass ring which holds a second moveable ring so this item could be used as a watch chain novelty. Rare and NM.
