Item Description
First is 7/8" with W&H back paper in use 1896-1898. Pictured is a long ladder truck made by the Seagrave Company of Columbus Ohio. Text on this piece promotes a Pa dealer with full text reading "Seagrave Trussed/W.C. Myer & Son. Sharpsburg. Penna." Next is 1.25" with very fancy design W&H back paper naming their Boston office with the paper in use only in 1898. Pictured on the front with some yellow and pale red accenting is the first self-propelled steam fire engine known by the brand name Amoskeag with the text on the button naming the parent company "Manchester Locomotive Works" which was located in Manchester, NH. Upper background has about five tiny and very faint age dots. Still with full gloss and nice color. About the second we've seen in our 51 years. Early firefighting rarities.
