Item Description
Gold on blue 7.5" long ribbon produced in conjunction with their exhibit.  This ribbon was intended for "Employees". While the ribbon displays extremely well, if held to the light there are a pair of long hairline splits on the illustration of the steam engine but neither of these splits goes beyond the illustration to the outer edges of the fabric. As such, they are evident only when held to the light with the exception of a tiny 1/16" square piece of fabric missing from the front end of the engine's boiler. Full text is "Baldwin Locomotive Works/Established/1831./Sept. 1876./Employees,/Centennial Celebration/Completion, 4000th. Engine". An early rarity in both the worlds of railroad collectibles and expositions. Fine.
