Item Description
Each is 11.5x17" on two sides of one sheet of thin newsprint. First is "Monday Morning March 28, 1864" that includes story "Speech Of Vice President Stephens". Second is "Wednesday Morning, April 13, 1864" edition w/article "Yankee Attempts At Negro Colonization-Failure Of The Scheme", four "Reward" ads for runaway slaves and an ad "Lost Or Destroyed By My Children On Thursday Last, My Free Papers Issued By The Hustings Court Of Lynchburg In 1862. This Is To Give Notice That I Shall Make Application For New Papers- Susan Elizabeth Taylore- Free Woman Of Color." Both have moderate handling and toning. VF. An excellent window into the day to day occurrences of the era.
