Item Description
2.5x4.5". Featured at center is The Great Seal Of Maryland flanked by draped flags w/a liberty cap at top and "Death Before Dishonor" in a banner at bottom. A well flattened horizontal fold through center and a less than .75" diagonal fold at top right corner. Otherwise only light age toning. VF. Printing is strong w/vibrant color. Marylanders were deeply divided over antebellum issues w/many residents holding strong views in favor of secession. The slave holding border state w/such close proximity to Washington DC was a major political and military battle ground throughout the war. Only the second we have encountered in our 51 years.
