Item Description
1.25" w/union bug "435" on curl at 6 o'clock. A youthful and high contrast real photo of the future President dominates this bold button. A superb example w/only trivial surface wear. NM displaying Mint as made. When James M. Cox chose Roosevelt as his vice president he was only 38 years old. While the choice surprised many insiders his name carried notoriety and as a Wilsonian moderate he helped balance the ticket in part because of his now ironic support of Prohibition. Ultimately the Cox/Roosevelt ticket would suffer a landslide defeat but the experience and connections made during this 1920 campaign would help propel FDR's approach to the 1932 presidential campaign. Ron Koot Collection.
