Item Description
Pair of 4.5x5" paper fans on 8" sticks. Both have google eyes and show Betty Boop w/large, exaggerated heads. Unauthorized, made in Japan 1930s-1940s. One shows two Mickey Mouse-like characters at her feet playing a squeeze box and banjo. Other shows her in evening gown singing w/orchestra. Even lt. aging but VF overall. Comes w/3.75x6" glassine paper wrapper w/"Betty Boop" name as well as image of her in signature short dress, garter visible as is small heart cut into the design of her dress. Wrapper was for candy bar produced by Schutter-Johnson Candy Corporation (makers of "Old Nick" and "Bit-O-Honey" candies) and was sold for 1¢. c. 1930s. Interestingly, Betty is depicted w/red hair instead of her signature black. Fold lines as issued. Fine. Rare.
