Auction 188 - Part II
Item numbers 934 though 2512 in auction 188
Item Description
8" long cast metal by Duro, c. 1950s. Box top has slight fade, one end flap very faded. Light scattered edge wear. Fine. Raised text on front of base is "Rocket Bank" while on each side of the rocket is the word "Mercury." Each side also has decal for "Union Savings And Loan Company." On top of rocket is a small futuristic plane that is pulled back locking in place a spring-loaded mechanism. Small spaceman figure is also on top and this is pushed so the plane launches forward firing the coin into a slot on the nosecone. Works. One decal is complete, other about 90%. Minor trace of wear. Has trap though key is missing.
