Item Description
27x40.75" one-sheet for the original 1958 US release of British film, the first in the series of Hammer Horror films starring Christopher Lee as Count Dracula. The film also features Peter Cushing as Doctor Van Helsing, along w/Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, Carol Marsh and John Van Eyssen. Released in the UK as "Dracula," the film was retitled "Horror Of Dracula" for US release to avoid confusion w/the earlier "Dracula" (1931) starring Bela Lugosi. This is the rarer Style A Blue poster, featuring a demonic-looking Dracula w/blood dripping from his fang, bats flying about his head w/castle in bkg. Left of poster features frightened damsel under eerie "Who Will Be His Bride Tonight?" promotional text. Poster has been folded as issued and has moderate scattered handling wear. Pin holes at corners and along margins w/a few pin holes along center vertical fold line (most notably to Dracula's eye). Some small pulls at pin holes. Some surface paper wear and staining at top corners. Bottom margin has some faint moisture staining and tape repairs on reverse to 1.25" tear at left. VG overall. Striking Hammer movie poster.
