Item Description
Each piece is 7/8" diameter and 3/16" deep covered in glass and encircled in a brass rim. The underside has a slightly convex tin cover with an extending 3/16" deep brass stud we think to serve as a set of cufflinks, although they could also be used individually as a lapel stud. One piece features a silver colored, apparent metal, edge liner with the interior edge having slightly scalloped edges and surrounding what appears to be a background of very dark green felt. Within the compartment are three very tiny dice that easily roll around forming various numerical combinations. The second piece has frosty coloration around a center apparent cardboard with pie shaped wedges each holding a numeral. The outer edges of this wheel shaped piece are scalloped and a single frosty glass colored bead rolls around the perimeter when the piece is shaken and comes to rest within one of the small cut-outs. Very intricately made and c. 1890s if not even earlier. NM.
