Item Description
The one metal badge in the group is a 2-3/8" oval reading "Authorized Chauffeur 487 Taxi Patrol." This is of the 1930s era. Except for the three largest items in this group the remaining items are about 2.25" pinback buttons or 2.75" tall laminated plastic rectangles with a vertical bar pin. A couple of these have serial numbers "000" or have the word "Specimen" but most have an actual driver's serial number. The group begins with one dated 1950 and then are as follows: 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957 (2), 1958, 1959, 1960 (2), 1961, 1962, 1965 (2), 1966, 1977, 1992, 1994, 1997. The remaining three items are 5.5" diameter embossed tin painted in white against dark green. Each of these has a center opening where some device, perhaps a rubber suction cup, was placed to affix the item. Each reads "Taxi Cab Bureau/Baltimore Police Department/Taxi Cab Registration" with each expiring May 31, 1958 but each with a different serial number. First of these we've seen. Light wear but VF. The buttons and badges are all Exc. to Mint with exception of a few age dots on the 1956 badge.
