23x33.25" frame w/portrait, biographical plaque and 14x16.5" opening revealing a land deed signed boldly "Frederick Douglass." Douglass was appointed Recorder Of Deeds for the District of Columbia is 1881 and signed this document May 6, 1882. Document is displayed unfolded and has age toning along seams and minor handling wear. Overall VF w/signature Exc. A pleasing example of the important early civil rights leader's signature in a handsome display. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
