Item Description
Large 19.56x41.75" molded and painted composition high relief store display. Back has Adler Jones of Chicago label and display is similar to Old King Cole store displays of the period. 1930s. This figure depicts Moon Mullins lighting cigar, separate arm attached to wooden brace on back is designed w/mechanical counterweight action that moves arm up and down as if Moon is bringing lit match to cigar. Open back reveals central wooden brace and mechanics as made. Backs has two printed instruction labels. Moon's head has some tape repairs/reinforcements added to back interior and 2.5" spot of restoration to edge just below knee. 2" spot of restoration to top of Moon's trademark bowler hat. Display has original wiring and mechanical components, but these show wear and would need to rewired to operate properly. Display is being sold as is. Exterior shows scattered crazing (most noticeable is line below Moon's eyes) and wear w/some dust soiling, but still VF overall for display. Old King Cole is known for their mechanical Disney displays and as rare as they are, this Adler Jones display is equally rare and the first we've offered in our 51 years.
