Item Description
3.5x4.5" brown leather zippered wallet by Pioneer, who made several different Superman wallets in the 1940s. This example has lightly raised full figure running image of Superman w/back showing him standing in classic hands on hips pose, w/space scene showing Krypton exploding and Superman's rocket flying away in bkg. This image has small "©NCP - 1948" copyright text at edge. Interior has small "Genuine Split Leather" text in gold and interior has snap closure compartment, clear window to display ID and plastic photo/card sleeves, which are aged but free of cracks. Wallet is complete w/both 2.5x3.5" cards - "Superman Identification Card" and "Superman Club" card. Both are unused; 1" tear to illustrated ID card and 2.5" vertical crease to club card. Fine overall. Wallet even comes w/original 2.75x6.25" "Pioneer Wallets" dollar bill insert, which shows obvious wear and is VG. Wallet itself shows some lt. scattered surface wear to exterior but is Fine/VF overall. Rare as complete.
