Item Description
The first six buttons are each 7/8" while the four "Club" buttons are 7/8" to 1" with the final one being a litho and all others in the group cello. The first six cartoon buttons were likely inspired by the series of seven cartoon buttons c. 1910 which were the first to promote the "Buster Brown Hose Supporter." See item #576. These were issued for the same purpose but the graphics are from the 1920s era. Two of these have back papers by Lucke Badge, Baltimore while four do not. In row 2, the first and second buttons have some barely detectable faint traces of age on the extreme rims but even these are VF and the others are Exc. to Mint. In the bottom row the first is a very early issue for the "Buster Brown Shoes Radio Club." Couple tiny age dots on the button curl and barely showing from the front. Second button names the "Buster Brown Juniors Business Builders Club" and is also a scarce imprint. Final two refer to the "Brownbilt Club." The first three of these are c. 1930s with the last c. 1940s. Exc. to Mint except as noted.
