Item Description
First is 1.75" celluloid with tin reverse naming maker W&H and with 1894 patent date.  Likely once suspended from a ribbon. Pictured man in knee deep ocean water with initials "A.P.W." on his  swimsuit standing for Asbury Park Wheelman. Woman in his arms has "LAW" on her shoulder standing for League Of American Wheelmen. They are posed beneath the slogan "We Are In The Swim." Slight bit of oxidation on the thin tin rim edge but the celluloid is totally clean. Of the remaining eight items, three are 7/8" and four are 1.25". First of the larger pictures the bicycle racer "Linton" and he is promoting "Orient Cycles." There is a 1/16" cut and small tan dot on extreme rim edge at 3 o'clock. Next two buttons dated for 1897 with one naming "Port Huron Cycle Path Club" and the other "Battle Creek Cycle Club." One of these has metal back with vertical pin while the other has W&H back paper although covered in penciling. The third small button, also by W&H promotes "Iver Johnson Cycles." Slightest trace of tan tone. Next promotes the "Joerens-Theim Two-Speed/It's All In The Hub." Small brown age towards the bottom and reverse collet has heavy rust with some paper loss of the Western Badge back paper. Next, without back paper names company specializing in "Bicycle And Golf Outfits For Men And Women." c. 1898. Last is with W&H slightly dusty paper with front naming event "Keystone Bicycle Club Luna Park, 1905." Tiny age traces. Many rarities. Exc. to NM with exceptions noted.
