Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" to a pair of paper tags at 1-3/8". In row 1, #1 is from c. 1896 rare series consisting of a tin stickpin with cardboard center picturing "Baltimore Oriole." Next c. 1915 shows a "Robin" with name "La Rue Holmes Nature League." This group was founded by American poet Georgiana Holmes. She began the group and traveled to schools by horse and buggy between 1915 and 1925 giving talks on nature. Small age on edge at bottom left. Next is early rarity naming "Decatur Bird & Tree Club." c. 1920s. Next and c. 1920s reads "Blue Birds Bring Happiness/Be A Bluebird." Cello is slightly concave. Next are a pair of buttons usually seen with the issuer's name Long Chew Gum, although these do not have the company imprint. Back papers are by W&H and pictured are "Robin" and "Macaw." Next c. 1930s is "Nature Guardian" from "Dept. Of Game & Fish Georgia." The remaining 15 items all name the "Audubon Society" or "Audubon Junior Club." The earliest of these also includes "The Indianapolis News." Tiny brown dot on right. The last two in row four are the litho tin style as well as all of those in row five and the two buttons in row six. Also in row six are a pair of cardboard string tags. The reverses of these read "Protect American Wildlife/National Audubon Society." The Audubon buttons are Exc. to Mint with the one exception.
