Item Description
Large and impressive 15.75x23.25" thin artboard has mixed media cover recreation original art of "Metal Men" #3, published by DC Comics Sept. 1963. Art was created by the original cover artists, Ross Andru (1927-1993), known for his work on "The Amazing Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Flash, Metal Men," co-creating The Punisher; and his frequent collaborator Mike Esposito (1927-2010), whose work for DC Comics, Marvel Comics and others spanned the 1950s to the 2000s and included "The Amazing Spider-Man, Wonder Woman" and "Metal Men" w/Andru. Art features the Metal Men - Gold, Iron, Lead and Mercury trying to protect Doctor Magnus from their rampaging teammate Platinum as Tin hangs on for dear life. Both Andru and Esposito have signed at lower right, just as they did on the published comic. Artboard has some scattered faint age spots, but art remains clean and Exc. w/vivid color.
