Item Description
Pair of fully three-dimensional  cast iron cap bombs by Ives, 1896-1898. Both have center rod w/cast loop at top so that it can be attached to a cord for throwing purposes. 1-3/8x2" tall figural head of Spanish-American naval hero Admiral George Dewey has collar formed as a separate piece capable of sliding up/down via rod through center of head. Back of shoulders have recessed "Dewey" name. Cap is inserted under collar and then when thrown down, the collar and head closes, causing cap to explode. Some scattered oxidation to interior of cap chamber. Fine overall. 1-5/8x1.5" tall figural head of The Yellow Kid w/lower jaw formed as a separate piece capable of sliding up/down. Cap is inserted in mouth and then when thrown down, the jaw closes, causing cap to explode. This is unpainted version w/o raised text on back of head. Some scattered oxidation but Fine overall.  VF overall. Classic toys and Yellow Kid items.
