Item Description
27x41" one-sheet poster for original release of the 1941 Republic Pictures 12 chapter movie serial directed by John English and starring Tom Tyler as Captain Marvel and Frank Coghlan Jr. as his alter ego Billy Batson. Poster is dominated by great image of Captain Marvel struggling w/scorpion weapon as serial villain The Scorpion looks on. Poster is for Chapter 5, "The Scorpion Strikes" and features great inset scene showing Tyler as Captain Marvel, lifting two men off their feet. Poster has been folded as issued w/pin holes at corners, bottom left corner having small pull. Moderate wear along fold lines w/tape repairs/reinforcements added along center vertical fold on back of poster. Fold crease intersections show wear, w/1" to 1.25" splits. Margins have a few small splits along fold lines. VG overall, but poster retains bright color and is a prime candidate for restoration. Would look great framed. Richard Calusdian Collection.
