Item Description
Pair of 11x14" lobby cards for original release of the 1941 Republic Pictures 12 chapter movie serial directed by John English and starring Tom Tyler as Captain Marvel and Frank Coghlan Jr. as his alter ego Billy Batson. Only the first chapter of this serial - "Curse Of The Scorpion" - had full color lobby cards like the pair offered here. Both cards feature comic book illustration of Captain Marvel at left. Cards do not feature Captain Marvel in film scenes, instead showing the excavation of the scorpion weapon the serial's villain was after. Cards are lightly aged. Card showing group of men w/rifles raised has single pin hole at top corners and staple holes at left/right center margins. Left margin shows moderate wear, VG. Second card has single pin hole at all corners and shows slight margin wear but is still Fine/VF overall. Richard Calusdian Collection.
