Item Description
27x41" one-sheet poster for the original release of the 1944 Columbia Pictures theatrical cartoon, "Porkuliar Piggy," one of just five shorts directed by Sid Marcus, Bob Wickersham and Howard Swift. The short run was due in part to "Li'l Abner" creator Al Capp's not being pleased w/the final results. Poster features image of Abner and Daisy Mae w/smaller bw poster image showing Abner and Salomey the pig tied together and heading toward evil anthropomorphic machine w/gnashing teeth. Poster has been folded as issued w/pin holes at corners and along center vertical fold. Fold lines show moderate wear w/several small tears and .75" to 1" splits at fold crease intersections. .25" pull on Abner's face. Tiny margin hole at upper right. Center left fold line has white tape repair and top fold crease intersection has tape repair on back. Poster is VG overall. Richard Calusdian Collection.
