Item Description
Pair of 14x22" thin cardboard window cards promote American stage magician Charles Joseph Carter (1874-1936), also known as Carter the Great. First card has "Carter Beats The Devil" title at bottom and shows Carter playing cards w/the devil, and viewer winning hand. Second card has "The World's Weird Wonderful Wizard" title at bottom, showing Carter holding crystal ball as multitude of devils, bats and spirits emerge from it. Both were printed by Otis Litho Co. of Cleveland, OH, 1930s. Devil card has 1.25" corner sliver off lower right and 1" tear at center right margin. Fine overall. Other card is clean and VF/Exc.
