Item Description
11x17" artboard has pen and ink original art for pages 5 of "Fallen Son - The Death Of Captain America" #5 published by Marvel Comics Aug. 2007 as part of the fall-out of the then recent "Civil War" storyline which saw Steve Rogers/Captain America killed. Five panels feature Captain America's memorial service and was drawn and inked by Cassaday, best known for his work on "Planetary, Astonishing X-Men, Captain America" and "Star Wars." Art features five of six pallbearers for Captain America - Carol Danvers in her Captain Marvel uniform in corner of first panel w/the Fantastic Four's Thing rolling his eyes as Tony Stark (Iron Man) leaves podium. This is due in part to Stark's opposition to Captain America in the recent Civil War. Cap's longtime friend and partner Sam Wilson (The Falcon) addresses crowd, which includes fellow pallbearer Rick Jones. Inked title and issue/page number at top. NM.
