Item Description
1" missing back paper but known to have been produced by H. Koster Co. New York. Women's Political Union founder Harriot Stanton Blatch utilized the colors of the English WSPU when she founded her group, WPU, in 1910. The slogan at center is an homage to Emmeline Pankhurst the famed English suffragette. For complete accuracy we note a tiny 1/8" hairline separation on the curl at 9 o'clock that remains flat and likely occurred during manufacturing. NM displaying Mint. Rich saturation of the colors and almost no surface wear even in reflected light. Only the second example we can recall being offered in commerce in the last five decades and that specimen had extensive color fade. A treasure of the American suffrage movement.
