Item Description
Lionel set No. 1536 consists of 7.25" long wind-up painted metal engine, 4" long coal car w/attached painted composition figure of Mickey Mouse, three different 6" long tin litho train cars. c. 1935. Engine works well and comes w/replacement key. This is engine version w/light, however a special battery is needed that is no longer produced. Coal car is marked "Mickey Mouse Stoker" and Mickey is depicted holding metal coal shovel. Figure is designed to move up and down as if he is shoveling as the train travels. The three train cars each have different name and these are "Mickey Mouse Circus, Mickey Mouse Band" and "Circus Dining Car." Each features great illustrations on all four sides, including Mickey and Minnie, Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow, Donald Duck, Pluto, Big Bad Wolf, Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother as well as circus animals. All five train components have moderate scattered wear including paint/nicks/scratches/flakes. Engine is VG while coal car w/Mickey figure is Fine. Three other cars are VG. No track pieces are included but are easily obtained if desired. A true classic for both collectors of Disneyana and train sets.
