Item Description
7.5x10.5x1" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains three different 7.25x10" puzzles by Saalfield. ©1940 Superman, Inc. Boxed set No. 1504. Box has lt. even aging lt. corner tip wear w/minor color touch-ups to lid. Bottom edge side panel has .25" scuff/dent, but box remains tight and VF overall. Each puzzle features choice action scene art, featured as covers to "Action Comics" #23 (Superman rescuing falling woman) and #21 (U-boat) as well as "Superman" #3 (train). Saalfield released three different Superman boxed puzzle sets, each w/different configuration and lid art. This set's lid features repeated image of Superman rescuing woman falling from skyscraper. Train puzzle is missing one piece from bottom. Otherwise set is complete and in choice, Exc. to NM condition. As nice as these come. Scarce set. Franco Toscanini Collection.
