Item Description
15.5x16" two-piece thin artboard attached w/white tape on back features mixed media original art for front cover and spine of Whitman BTLB #1490, ©1945 KFS. Art features great scene of Dagwood sitting in his armchair, attempting to read newspaper as Alexander talks to him and Cookie curls his hair. Daisy sleeps beside chair as her pups form pyramid, catching Blondie's eye. Spine portion has hand-lettered title and starburst design. This section has some scattered moisture staining and trace paint wear to red lettering. Fine overall. Main cover section remains clean and bright w/just trace wear at bottom. Small staple hole at title area but still displays Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the BTLB this art was created for. Richard Calusdian Collection.
