Item Description
This piece is 1" and in white metal. DeWitt references a sale of an example in 1918 and notes this is a mate to Seymour 1868-9. His number for this Grant item is 1868-34. Obverse depicts both men with eagle below and their full names along the left and right edges. The reverse has inscription "Truth Is Powerful And Will Prevail" surrounding clasped hands on a shield and accented by a ribbon inscribed "In Union There Is Strength." Most silver gilt has evaporated but otherwise little wear. Rare.
