Item Description
DeWitt lists this 1-3/16" piece as "Composition" but we believe it is solid celluloid. It was also issued in white and blue along with this example in red. Each side has very high relief portrait of the candidate each with the election year "1888" below. On the Cleveland side there is a tiny dot of red material missing just below the top rim hole. This caused us to look closer and we've discovered the piece was once broken into three parts and then repaired. The crack lines are for practical purposes invisible unless searched for with a magnifying glass. The item still displays essentially Mint. There is a matching piece for Harrison and all examples are quite scarce.
