Item Description
The figural lamp base is solid painted plaster and depicts Cecil coming up out of the water. 10" tall to the top of Cecil's head, 13" tall to the top of the bulb socket. Back of base has incised Bob Clampett copyright. Early 1950s. Complete with 7.5" tall stiff paper shade with great wrap-around character illustrations of Beany, Capt. Huffenpuff, Dishonest John, Wong and Hunny Bear. Has Bob Clampett copyright and is marked "Alert Lamp Co." Shade has some scattered light creases which are noticeable but in no way distracting as shade retains bright and clean appearance with vibrant color. Shade is VF. Back bottom edge of base has one minute paint flake. O/w working and NM. An incredibly impressive lamp. We believe very few were made and this is the first we've seen. From the personal collection of Walker Edmiston.
