Item Description
13.5x17x4" deep wooden hinged lid case w/cord handles and stenciled "U.S. Navy Miniature British Ship Models" text by handles. This area also has celluloid plaque noting manufacturer H.A. Framburg & Co. of Chicago, IL. 1943. Case is designed to stand up for display use and opens to reveal 28 compartments w/removable wood shelves, each containing attached gray painted solid die-cast waterline model of 1/200 Scale ships, including cruisers, battleships, aircraft carriers and many other British ships of the period. Each has printed identification text on underside. Used to train in the recognition of ship silhouettes by Naval personnel. Two of the smallest models show some oxidation and metal fatigue, but rest are Exc./NM. Case has lt. aging and trace of wear. VF. High quality w/superb detail. Mark Treitel Collection.
