Item Description
10-3/8x15.75" thin artboard has pencil and ink original art by the legendary Jack Kirby and inker John Verpoorten for page 34 of the Nov. 1977 "Captain America" Annual #4 published by Marvel Comics. Art is from "The Great Mutant Massacre!" story by Kirby featuring seven panels, showing Mister One transferring his consciousness into Mister Two's body. Fourth panel shows Mister Two banging on titanium cell at SHIELD as soldiers call for Captain America to come down. Cap arrives in second to last panel, shield in hand as he explains that they are not facing two individuals, but one sharing two bodies. Stamped title w/handwritten issue/page number in black ink at top. Pasted page number at bottom center. Back has 1971 Marvel copyright stamp w/handwritten date and issue information. Upper left corner is clipped, not affecting art and top/bottom center margins have strip of tape staining (also not affecting art). Artboard has some scattered dust soiling and faint spot of moisture staining along center right and a few dark spots of staining in fourth panel. Fine overall and would display nicely if framed.
