1-1/8" oval frame has vertical pin and clasp on the reverse. At center is raised oval frame surrounding the jugate ferrotype. Under magnification, there is a pinpoint dot of emulsion off above the letter "G" of Grant and just a tiny 1/16" line on his left forehead with two dots of gray emulsion gone. Both defects are extremely tiny and near impossible to see without magnification. With normal viewing images appear Mint and the brass areas have clean surfaces with traces of original luster.
