Item Description
Exceptional large and impressive 2.75"x3" convex shield badge with raised lettering and narrow rope border. Reverse has giant 2" safety pin soldered vertically. Large text: "N.Y. Evening World Newsboys Club". Likely c. 1915 when the NYC newsboys had club headquarters at 2nd Avenue & 11th St.
That year Mrs. James B. Eustis headed a campaign to raise funds for a new building. First seen. The best newsboy related badge we know of. NM.
