Item Description
3.25" deep wood box w/hinged lid 4.75x4.75". Lid is capped by molded thermoplastic plates each featuring a highly detailed bust portrait of candidate w/"James A. Garfield" and "Gen. Chester A. Arthur" respectively below. Underside of each has stamp "Scovill M'F'G. Co. N.Y. Pat. 8-28-1877." Arthur has light edge chipping along bottom edge of lid and light overall wear, Fine. Garfield is Hake #3018 and has only minor edge wear, Extremely Fine. An elegant pair of 1880 campaign display pieces. Leon Rowe Collection.
