Item Description
First is rectangular brass medal 2.5 x 4" dated for 1929. Text begins "Commemorating The Merging Of Wright Aeronautical Corporation..." and continues with list of 11 additional companies of which six include the name Curtiss. The scene includes small initials of sculptor "JMS". Small tarnish marks and a few small rub marks but primarily on the blank reverse, Near VF. Second is 3.25 x 4" brass with title "Southern Cross Trophy" and showing plane with "Southern Cross" on the side. Top text reads "Presented By Lorillard Spencer To Be Competed For Annually At Newport, R.I." Next is a title "Commemorating Great Flights" with a long list following that begins with Wilbur and Orville Wright. At bottom is "Awarded To" area but blank. Bottom side edge marked "29-57". Exc.
