Item Description
8.5x11" typed letter on "Sikorsky Aircraft" letterhead is dated July 15, 1955. Letter concerns a request for personal whereabouts of man, giving suggestion of Breeze Corporation of New Jersey, a maker of equipment for many types of helicopters around the world, including Sikorsky models. Letter has been signed in black ink by Igor Sikorsky (1889-1972), a Russian-American aviation pioneer in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Letter has US Air Mail stamp featuring portrait of Sikorsky and image of his Vought-Sikorsky VS-300 helicopter, the first viable American helicopter, which pioneered the rotor configuration used by most helicopters today. Letter has been folded as mailed and is aged, w/thin strip of darker aging along margins, which have a few tiny nicks. Letter has  three .25" to .5" spots of moisture, one almost touching Sikorsky's signature. VG/Fine overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
