Item Description
10.75x15-7/8" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for page 6 of "Adventure Comics" #396, published by DC Comics, Aug. 1970. Page features five panels, each featuring Supergirl w/Amos Ameswell, featuring great superstitious content including a mirror, ladder, black cat and spilled salt. Of particular note, Supergirl is referred to as "The Blonde Blockbuster" in one panel caption. Schaffenberger has signed underneath ladder in third panel in blue ink. Top margin has stamped "Adventure" title w/handwritten month, issue and page numbers. Bottom right has thin "Continued On 2nd Page Following" paste-over strip which has been taped down. Lower left corner has some tape staining, not affecting art, which remains clean and Exc. Back has Comics Code Authority approval stamp w/April 10, 1970 date.
