Cardboard box w/illustrated lid (and printed interior listing gun name, Kilgore and "Shoots Kilgore Disc Mammoth Caps" note) contains 10" long cast iron cap gun w/nickel plating and Tenite plastic stag grips w/incised/painted "Roy Rogers" name. Kilgore, c. 1938-1945. Box shows obvious wear and has tape repairs on lid interior to edge/corner splits. .75x1.75" area of surface paper missing from bottom of box. VG overall. "Roy Rogers" name remains strong on both grips. Gun is unfired and works w/revolving cylinder. Small spot of oxidation at base of hammer and interior shows even aging but gun is still VF/Exc. overall. Considered one of the best cast iron cap guns. Scarce as boxed.
