Item Description
12.5" long tin litho car of an obvious Volkswagen Beetle design comes in original box w/nicely illustrated lid and original cardboard box insert. Made in Japan by Nomura, 1960s. Box lid has scattered lt. handling wear w/moderate creases and corner tip wear, but corners remain free of splits. Fine. Wonderfully designed car features fully-dimensional tin litho spaceman driver figure, atom designs on doors, rubber tires (w/VW hubcaps), raised plastic box behind seats that features a lightbulb that swings back and forth within and lighted clear plastic jet exhaust. Front and back metal spring bumpers. Wire antenna present. Toy works w/manually steerable front wheels, engine noise and flashing rear light as it travels about. Toy has some lt. scattered wear/aging, but overall toy retains bright and glossy appearance. VF/Exc. Great design.
