Item Description
Being the big city on the Chesapeake Bay, crabs and oysters are a large part of Baltimore's iconography as demonstrated by this unusual collection. Earliest is 5.75" long ribbon for the "Avondale Club/Champion/Soup Contest/July 23, 1893". Minor age tone. Next is 1899 Germania Bowling Club with paper state seal on an oyster shell. Fourth item from Fraternal Order of Eagles is a superb celluloid as figural oyster shell. Fifth is Travelers Protective Assoc. from 1904 w/metal shell. Row 2 begins with figural crab pin "Come To Greater Baltimore 1907" and the remaining crab and oyster items are dated for 1911, 1933,  and (3) from 1934 for the "Second Annual Oyster Roast Homestead Park" (One missing a hanger). All VF or better except as noted. Fascinating collection.
