Item Description
Sizes go from 5/8" button to 12" long woven silk ribbon with cello/brass bar pin. Each item (except 1916) carries the 1814 date and/or the 1914 centennial date and most have both. Six of the centennial items include celluloid and five are metal or metal with a ribbon. Row 1, #3 is missing a pin-back like that included on the second and fourth items. In the bottom row, first medal is from rowing event "Middle States Regatta Assn." Some brass luster off blank back and probably missing a hanger but has a safety pin. Also in bottom row, Third and Fourth badges are marked "Delegate" and "Committee". Last item issued by "Society War of 1812". The twelfth item in the collection, Row 1 #5 was issued two years later. The cello lyrics within the brass shield include references to "Song Of Key" and "starry banner". Beneath the shield gold text reads "Presented By Mayor James H. Preston On The Occasion Of The First Public Presentation Of The Municipal Anthem 'Baltimore, Our Baltimore' October 22, 1916". Minor scattered small traces of age. Most items VF to Exc.
