Item Description
7/8" w/union back stamp. Jugates featuring the 1924 Democratic candidates are rare and this sepia variety is especially so. The majority of the small population have a very washed out image w/Davis' forehead and left cheek blending into the background and very muted brown tones. This example has gorgeous high contrast deep sepia toning, sharp images and proper separation between the candidates and the background. For accuracy we note two tiny 1/8" cello separations along collet that occurred during manufacturing. These are flat and only detectable upon close inspection of the reverse. Otherwise only minor surface wear in reflected light. NM displaying Mint. This is the finest specimen we have encountered in our 51 years. This button has been off the market for almost a quarter century when it was obtained from the legendary Joe Brown Collection. A special opportunity to obtain an investment grade example of a premier jugate button.
