Item Description
1-1/8" tall thin laminated plastic tag with hole to join with a ring to a dog's collar. Front shows the group logo "Dogs For Defense/DFD" and reverse shows dog's paw print below text "Member/War Dog Fund". This program was initiated shortly after Pearl Harbor, with organizing starting in January, 1942. Donated pet dogs went to the Army Quartermaster Corps to be trained for guard and patrol duties. Our second in 51 years. Mint.
