Item Description
10x11-7/8" frame contains matted vintage photo of Mike Hawthorn (1929-1959), the United Kingdom's first Formula One World Champion driver (1958). Photo shows him seated in his car after winning the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans race (a race which was marred by the worst auto-racing accident of all time, resulting in the deaths of 84 spectators and a driver). Hawthorn has signed in blue ink. Exc. as professionally matted and framed under UV glass. A rare autograph due to his untimely death in an automobile accident at the age of 29. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
