3.5x5.5" postcard features superb image from this legendary fight. Crisp photo shows Jeffries and Johnson in boxing stance w/legendary boxing promoter Rickard standing in between w/crowded audience in bkg. Fight took place July 4, 1910 and was billed as the fight of the century. Former undefeated heavyweight champion James Jeffries came out of retirement saying "I Am Going Into This Fight For The Sole Purpose Of Proving That A White Man Is Better Than A Negro." 22,000 people watched in 100 degree temperatures in downtown Reno, NV as Johnson defeated the former champion Jeffries, earning him $225,000 and silencing critics. Reverse is unused. Some scattered lt. handling wear w/vertical crease along right. Fine/VF overall.
