Item Description
10x19.5x6" deep box contains 13.5" tall hard plastic figure w/large, 38" wingspan. Mattel, ©1979 Toho Co. Ltd. and part of Mattel's famed "Shogun Warriors" toyline although the Shogun name does not appear on box. Box lists features - "Giant Flying Creature! Wings Flap! He Squawks! Claws Grab Like A Sky Hook! Beak Can Carry Small Objects!" Box has added "Wingspan 38 Inches!" sticker type applied color photo label on front of box. Box shows obvious aging and wear, w/dark moisture staining to left end flap and around closure tab. Scattered corner tip and edge wear w/a few small punctures and scattered faint moisture spots on back main panel. VG overall. Box is rare. Toy has one tab (to hold on back plate) broken and one inner tab has been replaced by screw hook (to hold rubber band in place. Claws have some scattered paint rubs, but Rodan o/w remains bright, clean and VF/Exc. for display. Scarce 1970s toy.
