Item Description
Pair of 15.5x21.5" newspaper tear sheets. Nov. 29, 1936 tear sheet from "America's Greatest Comic Weekly" features half-page ad showing several King Features Syndicate characters, including - Popeye, Wimpy, Maggie & Jiggs, Barney Google, Skippy, Tillie the Toiler and others. Page is lightly aged w/slightly darker margins. Top margin has 1" tear while bottom margin has .25" and .5" tears. Fine. Aug. 31, 1941 tear sheet from "America's Greatest Comic Weekly" features great full page ad for Defense Bonds and Stamps w/wonderful illustration by George McManus of his "Bringing Up Father" characters - Maggie and Jiggs, Nora and even Fifi the dog. Bottom has "This Promotion Contributed By Puck - The Comic Weekly" notation. Horizontal fold at center as issued but o/w clean and VF. Wonderful piece to frame.
